The Farmers Bank of China (FBC) was the successor organization to the Agricultural Bank of the Four Provinces and was formally chartered on 4 June 1935, but had issued notes prior. Its head office was Hankou initially, but moved to Nanjing in 1937. Its note issuing privilege was terminated in 1942 by the Japanese occupying authorities, although notes continued to circulate in unoccupied areas. The Farmers Bank of China moved to Taiwan after the Communist Revolution, where it was acquired by the Taiwan Cooperative Bank in 2006.
