Founded as the Agra Bank in 1833 in Agra, India, the bank was renamed the Agra and United Service Bank Limited (AUS) in 1837. It obtained a royal charter in 1857, and opened its Hong Kong (B501) branch the same year under manager Henry Turner. Further information is sought regarding its Shanghai branch.
