The Agra and Masterman’s Bank (AMB) was formed in 1865 from a merger of the Agra and United Service Bank (Hong Kong B501) and Masterman, Peters, Mildred, Birkbeck and Company, established in London in 1778.
The Agra and Masterman’s Bank ceased operations in 1866. In 1867, the bank was reconstituted as the Agra Bank Limited. It closed its Hong Kong branch on 31 December 1872, and continued to operate until liquidated in 1887.
