The Sichuan-Shaanxi Provincial Soviet Government Workers and Farmers Bank series of China Communist Banks in the World Currency contains 9 distinct entries.
At the end of 1932, the Fourth Regiment of the Red Army reached the junction of Sichuan and Shaanxi Provinces and established a base covering approximately 42,000 square kilometers with a population of more than 6 million. After the Sichuan-Shaanxi Soviet Government was set up in February 1933, one of the primary goals of economic construction was the issuing of currency. To this end, the Bank of Soviet (Sichuan-Shaanxi Provincial Soviet Government Workers and Farmers Bank, SOV) was established in early 1933. Take care not to confuse the Bank of Soviet with the, in Chinese, similarly named Republic Sichuan-Shaanxi Provincial Workers and Farmers Bank (B22801). Bank of Soviet counterfeits, fakes, and fantasies are rife: caveat emptor.
