The Prestige Proof Set program ran inconsistently from 1983 to 1997 with a one or two commemorative coins added to the regular proof sets of the year. The Prestige Proof set for 1986 included the very popular Statue of Liberty half dollar and silver dollar. The price now lowered to $48.50, it sold an impressive 599,317 units.
