The Greysheet Catalog (GSID) of the Connecticut Copper (1785–1788) series of Colonial & Post-Colonial Issues in the U.S. Coins contains 3 distinct entries with CPG® values between $60.00 and $9,000.00.

Authority for establishing a mint near New Haven was granted by the state to Samuel Bishop, Joseph Hopkins, James Hillhouse, and John Goodrich in 1785. Available records indicate that most of the Connecticut coppers were coined under a subcontract, by Samuel Broome and Jeremiah Platt, former New York merchants. Abel Buell was probably the principal diesinker.
