The Trésorerie Nationale series of France in the World Currency contains 53 distinct entries.
A decree of 10 and 27 March 1791 decided that the administration of the Trésor Royal (Royal Treasury) would not belong to any department of the Ministry of Finance, but that it would be entrusted to a Committee of Treasury composed of six commissioners appointed by the king. Then, on 14 April 1791, it was decreed that this institution would henceforth be called the Trésorerie Nationale (National Treasury, NAT).
