1849 Mormon 20 Dollar Gold MS K-4 Values
Details
The Mormon $20 has the distinction of being the first coin of the denomination struck in the United States. Records indicate a mintage of 1,000 pieces in 1849. Today, there are approximately two dozen examples in private hands, most of which grade VF or XF. An example grading AU with original surfaces would be in the lower condition census, and only two or three pieces are known in mint state.
