1849 Mormon 5 Dollar Gold MS K-2 Values

Details

5,500 1849 Mormon $5s were struck, making them the most commonly encountered Mormon gold coin. Today, we know of more than 150 examples in private hands. Despite the relative availability of this issue, it is an incredibly challenging coin to find with original surfaces and luster. A handful of pieces graded MS60 or MS61 comprise the Condition Census; however, originality-conscious collectors may prefer attractively toned Choice AU specimens to some of the uncirculated pieces.
