The Estado de Guayana series of Venezuela in the World Currency contains 29 distinct entries.
On 30 May 1864, the constitution of Guayana was signed, in which it adopted a democratic government and formed a federal republic with the United States of Venezuela. Between 1878 and 1880, the Estado de Guayana (State of Guyana, GUY) issued four series of banknotes that circulated within the state and possibly also in neighboring states. Three series were issued by the treasury of the State of Guyana and amortizable with their income, and one was issued by the Municipal Council from Ciudad Bolívar, Heres Department, and amortizable with the income from municipal revenues.
