£6,000,000 ($18,000,000) with the right of the officials to increase to £10,000,000 the amount of legal tender Treasury Bills redeemable by Dec. 30, 1790 a $1 specie for $40 in bills pursuant to two Oct. 16, 1780 Acts. Legal tender status was terminated at the May 1781 Session. Printed on very thin paper with denominations spelled out on the back and which show through into open border areas on the front. Two control letters above text. Misspellings are deliberate and constitute secret marks. Signers were J. Hopkins, John Lyne, J.M. Simmons, Bolling Stark, and James Turner. Three signers on bills.
