1955-D Doubled Die Obverse One Cent MS RD FS-101
Details
The 1955-D Lincoln cent is a common coin in all grades up through about MS64 or MS65, though it is quite scarce in MS66 or better condition. This issue is essentially esoteric in MS67, and thus they command high premiums on the rare occasions such pieces do get offered for sale. Savvy buyers will scout out high-end MS66s, cherrypicking the nicest such examples.
Obverse: Bust of Abraham Lincoln framed by IN GOD WE TRUST on the top periphery. The word LIBERTY to the left of the portrait and the date and mintmark (If any) positioned on the right side.
Reverse: Wheat ears flanking the words ONE CENT, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The motto E PLURIBUS UNUM on the top perimeter.
