1943-D Bronze One Cent MS BN Values
Details
Few transitional errors compare in rarity, popularity, or value to the 1943 bronze cent. Presumed to have been made accidentally after some bronze planchets from the 1942 production run were left behind in press hoppers and ended up being struck by the 1943 dies.
Only a single example of the 1943-D bronze cent error is known to collectors.
Obverse: Bust of Abraham Lincoln framed by IN GOD WE TRUST on the top periphery. The word LIBERTY to the left of the portrait and the date and mintmark (If any) positioned on the right side.
Reverse: Wheat ears flanking the words ONE CENT, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The motto E PLURIBUS UNUM on the top perimeter.
