1940-D One Cent MS RB
Details
The 1940-D Lincoln cent is a very common coin, offering a multitude of survivors in every grade level spanning from the low-end circulated grades up through Gem levels, including MS66. In the MS67 range, the 1940-D becomes tougher; there are just a handful of pieces that grade higher than that, with registry set collectors paying high premiums for pieces that approach MS68 quality.
Obverse: Bust of Abraham Lincoln framed by IN GOD WE TRUST on the top periphery. The word LIBERTY to the left of the portrait and the date and mintmark (If any) positioned on the right side.
Reverse: Wheat ears flanking the words ONE CENT, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The motto E PLURIBUS UNUM on the top perimeter.
