1916-S One Cent MS RD Values
Details
The 1916-S Lincoln cent is a surprisingly scarce coin today. While its original mintage figures are multiples of the S-mint Lincoln pennies that came before it. It is not considered a true semi-key date, at least in the circulated grades. However, few were saved in the uncirculated grades, and this piece is now considered a conditional rarity. The coin is rare at the Gem level, regardless of color designation.
Obverse: Bust of Abraham Lincoln framed by IN GOD WE TRUST on the top periphery. The word LIBERTY to the left of the portrait and the date and mintmark (If any) positioned on the right side.
Reverse: Wheat ears flanking the words ONE CENT, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The motto E PLURIBUS UNUM on the top perimeter.
