1911-S One Cent MS RD
Details
The 1911-S Lincoln cent is one of the toughest semi-keys in the series beyond the most prominent regular-issue Lincoln rarities, including the 1909-S VDB, 1909-S, 1914-D, and 1931-S. While a scarce coin across the board, many examples offer good eye appeal thanks to the fact that most are well struck. The 1911-S Lincoln cent is rare in all Red uncirculated grades and is exceptionally so in MS65RD or better. Pressure from registry set collectors often pushes examples in the MS66RD range into five-figure pricing territory.
Obverse: Bust of Abraham Lincoln framed by IN GOD WE TRUST on the top periphery. The word LIBERTY to the left of the portrait and the date and mintmark (If any) positioned on the right side.
Reverse: Wheat ears flanking the words ONE CENT, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The motto E PLURIBUS UNUM on the top perimeter.
