The first Denver-mint issue for the Lincoln cent series, the 1911-D penny is a semi-key coin that is quite scarce across all grades. This piece is particularly scarce in uncirculated grades, with pieces above MS64RB categorically rare. The strike on the 1911-D Lincoln cent is generally soft, greatly affecting eye appeal even on the higher-graded pieces.
Obverse: Bust of Abraham Lincoln framed by IN GOD WE TRUST on the top periphery. The word LIBERTY to the left of the portrait and the date and mintmark (If any) positioned on the right side.
Reverse: Wheat ears flanking the words ONE CENT, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The motto E PLURIBUS UNUM on the top perimeter.
