1909-S Lincoln One Cent MS RD
Details
The 1909-S Lincoln cent is considered a semi-key issue and is relatively scarce in all grades, though it is especially challenging in the Red uncirculated grades. Most RD specimens are found in the MS64-65 range, and above that these pieces become exceptionally difficult. Examples in MS67RD or better are downright rare and easily command five-figure prices.
Obverse: Bust of Abraham Lincoln framed by IN GOD WE TRUST on the top periphery. The word LIBERTY to the left of the portrait and the date and mintmark (If any) positioned on the right side.
Reverse: Wheat ears flanking the words ONE CENT, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The motto E PLURIBUS UNUM on the top perimeter. Deisgner's initials of V.D.B. have been removed.
