Obverse: Morgan’s familiar Liberty Head with different border, here with E PLURIBUS to the left, seven stars above, UNUM to the right, and date 1879 below (flanked by two stars to the left and four to the right).

Reverse: Large perched eagle holding an olive branch (with seven leaves) and three arrows, styled after Morgan’s 1878 work on $5 patterns. IN GOD WE TRUST in arc around lower part of eagle. Around border, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA / QUARTER DOLLAR.
