1869 Dime. The composition noted on the reverse die is Ruolz’s alloy, although no specimen has been found struck in this specific alloy. Strikings in other metals are known. • J-716: “Ruolz’s alloy” per conventional wisdom, but actually of varying compositions.
Obverse: Regular Liberty Seated die without date (as also used for J-331 of 1863 and elsewhere).
