1869 Three-Cent Piece. This is an 1869 version of J-618. Two reverse varieties are known of the nickel striking, one having larger border dentils than the other. Die varieties exist.

Obverse: Liberty Head with coronet. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA surrounding, large date numerals below.

Reverse: Laurel wreath enclosing Roman numeral III.
