1865 Copper Pattern 3 Dollars PR RD J-441

Details

1865 $3. Restrike made circa 1872. J-440, listed in earlier editions, is actually not a pattern, and so has been removed. The example previously listed as J-441a, silver, was found to be a silver-plated J-441.

Obverse: Regular design (but identifiable as a particular die first used in 1872, due to certain characteristics).

Reverse: Similar to regular design except with date slanting up to the right.
