1865 Copper-Nickel Pattern Cent PR J-404 Values

Details

1865 Cent. Struck from regular dies. Obverse varieties include Plain 5 and Fancy 5 in date. Thick and thin planchet variations exist for J-404 (also known with three obverse die varieties), indicating that such pieces were struck on multiple occasions over a period of time, no doubt as numismatic delicacies. Certain alloys are difficult to distinguish from others except by elemental analysis. J-404 may be a mint error.
