Banknote Book & CPG® PRICE GUIDE

About This Series

The Greysheet Catalog (GSID) of the Die Eidgenössische Staatskasse series of Switzerland in the World Currency contains 11 distinct entries with CPG® values between $700.00 and $3,800.00.
To prevent a shortage of coins, on 14 August 1914 the Federal Department of Finances authorized Die Eidgenössische Staatskasse (Federal Treasury) to issue 5-, 10-, and 20-franc notes bearing a promise to pay in legal tender, corresponding to the silver crown, and the gold 10- and 20-franc coins. These treasury notes bear the name of Die Eidgenössische Staatskasse (DES), but were actually issued by the Schweizerische Nationalbank (SNB).
