The Reichsbank (Imperial Bank, RB) was the successor bank of the Königlich-Preußische Hauptbank (Royal Prussian Bank), the central bank of Prussia from 1847. The Reichsbank was designated the central bank of Germany on 1 January 1876, five years after German unification, and continued in this role until 1945.
