On 26 April 1992, the Republic of Macedonia seceded from the Yugoslav dinar monetary zone with the passage of the Law on the Monetary Unit of the Republic of Macedonia, the Law on the Usage of the Monetary Unit of the Republic of Macedonia, the Law on the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia, and the Law on Assuming the Deposited Foreign Currency Deposits of the Citizens by the Republic of Macedonia.
