The Greysheet Catalog (GSID) of the Military Authority in Tripolitania series of Libya in the World Currency contains 12 distinct entries with CPG® values between $2.50 and $7,600.00.

From 1943 to December 1951, the northern provinces of Cyrenaica and Tripolitania were occupied by the British. The Military Authority in Tripolitania (MIL) issued notes on behalf of the British occupation forces.

These notes are denominated in lire because Libya was an Italian colony before World War II. The Military Authority lira replaced the Italian lira at par, with an exchange rate of 480 lire to the pound sterling. In Cyrenaica, the Egyptian pound had been in use as well, but it too was replaced by the Military Authority lira.
