The Cassa Veneta dei Prestiti (Venetian Loan Office) series of Italy in the World Currency contains 12 distinct entries.
Following the defeat of the Italians by Austro-Hungarian and German forces in the Battle of Caporetto from 24 October to 19 November 1917, these buoni di cassa (cash certificates) were issued for use in the occupied areas during World War I. Based upon serial numbers observed, it appears each series consists of 25,000 notes.
