The Greysheet Catalog (GSID) of the Banque de Madagascar et des Comores series of Comoros in the World Currency contains 27 distinct entries with CPG® values between $350.00 and $550.00.
In 1912, Comoros (a French protectorate since 1886) became a province of Madagascar, a neighboring French colony. In 1945, Comoros became a separate French territory. Following this split, the Banque de Madagascar changed its name to the Banque de Madagascar et des Comores (Bank of Madagascar and the Comoros, BMC). On 26 December 1945, the Madagascar-Comores franc was established and its value was fixed at 1.7 French francs. Old Madagascar coins and banknotes continued to circulate in parallel with this new currency.
