These certificates were issued by the Ministere du Tourisme du Cambodge (MTC) starting in the early 1960s. They are perforated along the left edge, and stamped on the back with the date of redemption and the name of the establishment where the redemption took place. The French text on the back reads Ce bon est valable seulement pour le paiement des frais de chambre, de repas et de boissons (This coupon is valid only for the payment of room charges, meals and beverages) and is signed by a representative of Le Délégué du Gourvernement Royal à la Direction du Tourisme (The Delegate of the Royal Government Department of Tourism). 100- and 500-riel denominations have been reported, but remain unconfirmed.
