2000-D Sacagawea One Dollar MS Mule with S.C. 25c Reverse
Details
Very rare double-denomination error in which the design form the South Carloina statehood quarter dollar die was used to strike the reverse (back) of the coin with the Sacagawea obverse, on the Sacagawea gold planchet.
Obverse: Portrait of Sacagawea with child in a papoose with the motto IN GOD WE TRUST in the left field. LIBERTY centered at the top and the date and mint mark in the lower right field.
Reverse: A flying eagle, framed by 13 stars, soars with the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM in the left-center of the design. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DOLLAR frame the periphery.
