A modernistic design by Marcel Jovine was selected for the five-dollar gold coin. Both Uncirculated and Proof versions were minted at West Point.
Obverse Description
The obverse portrays a stylized eagle holding a 322 COMMEMORATIVES federal issues massive quill pen.
Reverse Description
Another large quill pen is featured on the reverse. To the left are nine stars, signifying the first colonies that ratified the Constitution. Four stars to the right represent the remaining original states.
