1941 Doubled Die Obverse One Cent MS RB FS-103
Details
There are a few types of 1941 doubled die cents, but the specimen known as Type I, exhibiting noticeable doubling on the obverse in the inscription LIBERTY and motto IN GOD WE TRUST is the most popular and valuable of these. Perhaps there are about 1,000 or so specimens of this variety, making it iscarce in all grades and color designations.
Obverse: Bust of Abraham Lincoln framed by IN GOD WE TRUST on the top periphery. The word LIBERTY to the left of the portrait and the date and mintmark (If any) positioned on the right side.
Reverse: Wheat ears flanking the words ONE CENT, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The motto E PLURIBUS UNUM on the top perimeter.
