Deep mirror proof-like surfaces. The 1878-CC Morgan dollar saw a mintage of 2,212,000, of which 60,993 were sold in the GSA Hoard sales. These pieces were first offered in the GSA sale during 1973 under the headline The Coins Jesse James Never Got. These silver dollars are generally encountered in uncirculated condition and are available in both hard packs and soft packs. There is a small number of PLs and DMPLs in GSA packaging, and these enjoy big premiums when offered for sale.
