1869 Five-Cent Piece / 1866 Five-Cent Piece. Unusual two-headed, two-dated mule made outside of the Mint as a numismatic delicacy. Ex Garrett Collection, March 1980, Lot 1229, earlier from S.S. Crosby.

Obverse: Liberty Head facing left, coronet inscribed LIBERTY and with star. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around border, 1869 below.

Reverse: Actually an obverse die: Washington portrait, IN GOD WE TRUST (Obverse 2 of 1866).
