“1868” Dime. Obverse first used in 1863 for J-325 and related pieces.6 Research by David Cassel has revealed that these coins were struck in 1863 from a die erroneously dated 1868.

Obverse: Small shield at center with crossed arrows behind, wreath around most of perimeter. EXCHANGED FOR U.S. NOTES at border.

Reverse: Die as used on J-641 and related.
