1866 Lead/White Metal Pattern Nickel PR J-520 Values

Details

1866 Five-Cent Piece. Dies 1-F. An illogical die combination, as both sides have the inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA; probably struck privately. One example of J-516 is clearly struck over an 1867 regular-issue Shield nickel.

Obverse: Washington portrait, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Reverse: Regular die without rays, as adopted in 1867.
