1854 Cent. Struck in a diameter smaller than that of the current circulating cents.

Obverse: Eagle flying left, adapted from Gobrecht’s 1838 half dollar motif, stars around, date 1854 below.

Reverse: Continuous wreath with ribbon at bottom, enclosing ONE CENT, with inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA surrounding. Two leaves in wreath under E (in STATES).
