Obverse: Head of Liberty with braided hair and coronet, facing left, same style as used on circulating cents. No stars. Date 1854 below.

Reverse: Continuous laurel wreath, ribbon at bottom, enclosing ONE CENT. Around the border is UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
