Details

Combination of the 3 and III dies, the “Ugly Duckling” pattern. Either side could be called the obverse or reverse. Silver and copper alloy, unknown proportions, plain edge. Originals and restrikes, the last probably in 90% silver. The copper-nickel issues are restrikes.

Obverse: The numeral 3, with no further inscriptions.

Reverse: The Roman numeral III, with no further inscriptions.
