Obverse: Lady Liberty is seated on a rock bearing a shield with the word LIBERTY. The designer's name, "C. GOBRECHT" appears on the rock base. 13 stars appear on the periphery. The date is centered at the bottom middle.

Reverse: A large eagle in flight soaring through a plain (no stars) background. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA * ONE DOLLAR around the periphery.
