These are restrikes probably struck around 1859. Also referred to as J-58 in the United States Pattern guide by Judd.

Lady Liberty is seated on a rock bearing a shield with the word LIBERTY. The designer's name, "C. GOBRECHT" appears below the rock base. The date is centered at the bottom middle.

Reverse Description

A large eagle in flight soaring through a starry field. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA * ONE DOLLAR around the periphery.
