Obverse: Lady Liberty, facing right, with wild, flowing. Hair. The word LIBERTY at the top periphery and the date across the bottom.

Reverse: The words UNITED STATES OF AMERI. frame the outer periphery of the coin with 13 chains linked in a circle inside the lettering. The denomination of ONE CENT and the fraction 1/100 appear in the center of the chain.
