The Greysheet Catalog (GSID) of the WWII Emergency Issues - Hawaii series of Small Size Notes in the U.S. Currency contains 13 distinct entries with CPG® values between $70.00 and $41,000.00.

During World War II, in which the United States was involved in combat operations from 1941 through 1945, the US government issued a variety of silver certificates with special markings denoting use in particular regions of the world. These are called "emergency notes" and were issued in haste to help supply money to residents and American troops in particular places of US interest during World War II. These special paper currency issues include $1, $5, $10, and $20 notes with brown seals and a reverse imprinting of the word "HAWAII" issued for Hawaii, which at the time was a United States territory before its official entry to the Union as a state in 1959. Meanwhile, $1, $5, and $10 notes with yellow seals were issued for use by United States Armed Forces stationed in Europe and North Africa. These notes are highly collectible, with many quite scarce in the better uncirculated grades.
