The Greysheet Catalog (GSID) of the Banco Central de S. Tomé e Príncipe series of Sao Tome and Principe in the World Currency contains 56 distinct entries with CPG® values between $1.00 and $30.00.

In the 1980s, São Tomé and Príncipe experienced an economic crisis leading to a lack of confidence in the banking system and the currency. To carry out reforms aimed at macroeconomic stabilization, it was necessary to create a strong and independent institution capable of implementing financial policies and supervising the activities of commercial banks. Through the enactment of Decree Law Nº 8/92, the Banco Central de S. Tomé e Príncipe (BCSTP) was created on 26 August 1992. For more information, visit www.bcstp.st.
