The Palestine Currency Board (PCB) was formed in London on 15 June 1926. The passage of the Palestine Currency Order of His Majesty in council on 7 February 1927 declared as legal tender the Palestine pound, equal in value to the British pound sterling and divided into 1,000 mils.
