Neither pattern, nor circulating isuses, these medals of the Hawaiian territory were produced by Messrs. Pinches & Co. (London) for Reginald Huth, for his private collection, and personal use. According to Stack's Bowers, Huth was a "wealthy Londoner and numismatist. He also had limited quantities of medals produced for Spain and Madagascar."
