The Banque des États de l’Afrique Centrale (Bank of the Central African States, BEAC) was created on 22 November 1972 to provide monetary policy including a common banknote series for the countries of the Union Douanière et Économique de l’Afrique Centrale (UDEAC) which includes Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and Republic of Congo.
