Half Dimes Values
Greysheet & CPG® PRICE GUIDE
The first half dimes struck for circulation were the half dismes of 1792. The coins were authorized by the Act of April 2, 1792. The Flowing Hair type was first struck in February 1795, although some were dated 1794. At first the silver fineness was .8924. The Act of January 18, 1837, reduced the weight and changed the fineness to .900. The weight was again reduced in 1853. Half dimes offer many die varieties in the early dates.
