Scarce and desirable as a short-lived series. High grade examples of classic head large cents of any date are especially scarce due to poorly made planchets composed of soft copper.

Obverse: Portrait of Liberty with headband is framed by 7 stars on the left and 6 stars on the right periphery. The date at the bottom center.

Reverse: Laurel wreath surrounded by the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA on the periphery. The denomination ONE CENT centered in the wreath with a line underdeath.
